One of the most exciting aspects of my years in the face painting world, is the people I get to meet and the places I get to go. This job is truly an adventure, if you are up for the challenge, and I like a good challenge. On this adventure, I visited the beautiful Loews hotel, right next to Texas Live! which is a dining, and hospitality district in Arlington.
I was thrilled when Danny, a Detroit Lions fan, reached out and asked me to turn him and his son into lions. We jumped on a call and he explained how this is something he's done for a couple of years now, where he hires a makeup artist to get their faces painted as a lions and show up to the game. Danny found me online, and was attracted to the level of detail in my artwork, specifically my body paintings (Insert flattered face here).
I was up for the challenge, even though it would be my first time doing something like this, where it involves a more realistic aproach to the artwork versus the children's artwotk I am so accustomed to. However, I believe there is only one way to grow, and that is by challenging yourself and taking risks. Feeling very enthusiastic about the project, we closed the deal and set a date. My husband, being such a good sport, he let met practice on him first.
The day of the game, I met Danny and his son and their hotel room. I set up my CraftNGo station and started working. The goal was to paint both of them within two hours and I almost did. I was a little nervous to meet Danny's expectations, as he has done this before, but it turned out great!
It was wonderful to see how people reacted when they walked into the lobby and everyone wanted pictures and between game breaks, people would come and take pictures with them as well.
Thank you Danny (and son) for trusting my talent and giving me an opportunity to challenge myself and have so much fun at it!
